Orthodontic treatment is most commonly started between the ages of 12 and 16 because most permanent teeth have grown in by this time.
During this age bone and jaw structure have sufficiently formed to allow orthodontic treatment to begin.
This is also the age where many kids and teens develop a heightened awareness of themselves, their appearance, and their relationships with friends. Building self-confidence and balancing individuality with “fitting in” often takes up a large part of your teen’s life during this period of time.

Braces today come in a variety of styles and materials, making life with braces much easier, more comfortable, and even more stylish than in the past. Some are even invisible like Invisalign, clear braces or lingual braces.
Early treatment allows monitorization of growth of the jaw and recommendations for further orthodontic treatment if it becomes necessary. Different patients react to treatments differently; it may take for one patient only 12 months to complete their treatment, it may take another patient 24 months.
